As Chief Architect at Synergy, Gary Shears is responsible for developing technical proposals, understanding the technical landscape within Synergy and the government, and collaborating with various programs to leverage their work and deliver beneficial solutions to our customers.

Before joining Synergy, Gary was a Solutions Director at GDIT, where he was responsible for the development of technical proposals. His extensive background includes expertise in Enterprise Architecture, Cloud, Application Development, Databases, and other technical areas. Early in his career, Gary successfully owned and operated a software development company. He has also worked at IBM and other small companies, where he provided valuable technical advice to government clients seeking clarity in various technical domains.

Gary holds several certifications, including Project Management Professional (PMP), AWS Solutions Architect, Agile Scrum Master, and ITIL.

Outside of work, Gary enjoys golfing, camping, watching WVU sports, and spending quality time with his family.
